The Youth Career and Advising Center is a non-profit, non-governmental institution founded by Vytautas Magnus University and the public institution “Open Society Fund-Lithuania” in 1999.

The main objectives and goals of the Center are the following: development of social, educational and cultural programs as well as endorsement of civic initiatives and advancement of the system of public service.

The above mentioned objectives are realized in the following forms:
• Providing young people with education and training of practical skills in specialized areas.
• Development of programs of continued education of adults.
• Endorsement of projects leading to a renovation and democratisation of the system of higher education.
• Initiation and endorsement of strategic projects leading to an enhancement of reform of the system of secondary education and integration into the European Union.
• Career education and guidance.
• Counseling in career choice.
• Training of the abilities to recognize and to market professional skills.
• Counseling in the field of the job market research.
• Familiarization with effective strategies of job search.

Other objectives of the Center include the following:
• Publication of books.
• Other forms of publication.
• Research in the fields of social sciences and humanities.

We have a client-centered, well-equipped, academic and educational community based resource and advising center located on the Vytautas Magnus University campus. Our location and the collaborative relationship with the university model and enable cooperation between the Youth Career and Advising Center and educational institutions in Lithuania and abroad. The Center has a strong network of trainers, experts, consultants and advisers who provide services all around the country. The programs of the center encourage liberalisation and decentralisation of social and educational systems, provide access to information regarding the changing needs of youth experience and development in lifelong learning process.
